Energy News – March 2017

12th April 2017

New aerial photos of the Widnes processing facility and weighbridge have recently been taken using specialist drone equipment. The dryer, which is located nearby, will soon be going through hot commissioning and our Procurement team has been very busy sourcing a high percentage of the required tonnage for the plant from a number of local suppliers.

On Friday 31 March, Halton Borough Council gave planning consent for the construction of the new large Stobart Group North West office in Widnes, where Stobart Energy is going to base its head office operations. Works are expected to start in April and all being well the building should be ready for occupation by Christmas 2017.

Welcome to James Drewe-Smith, new Commercial Finance Manager for Stobart Energy based in Widnes. Reporting into Alex Jessup, James will focus on identifying and driving through opportunities to improve commercial and operational performance across both Stobart Biomass Products and Stobart Biomass Transport, in order to increase profitability. In addition, he will focus on improving the provision of financial and operational information so that we have the right information to make financially sound business decisions.

Also joining the business is Lewis Greenhill, as our new Contract and Fuel Supply Manager for the South West. Lewis starts on 18 April and will report into Bill Griffiths. He will be responsible for the supply chain and contract management of the Margam facility, whilst providing support and cover for the Evermore plant. Lewis has a well-established history across the waste, agricultural and recycling sectors as well as vegetation management and clearance with EON and other key businesses
