Energy News – April 2017

10th May 2017

As you will recall, a few years ago we set ourselves an ambitious target to deliver over 2m tonnes per annum of virgin and waste wood material by 2018. We succeeded in securing long-term supply contracts to deliver on that target. During a recent visit to the North East, we had the opportunity to get some aerial photos of the construction work underway at the new biomass power plant at Port Clarence. This plant will require 250,000 tonnes per year of waste wood biomass fuel, beginning its commissioning in December 2017 – that equates to over 30 truck loads per day at this plant alone. It’s one of our biggest contracts and we are working hard to finalise the supply chain for the plant.
